Under 8’s- With 2 teams playing at Gatton this weekend it was a good opportunity to start including some more structure with the boys. In the first game our smaller boys were impressive with mentions to Christopher and Kane. In the second game we had our bigger boys step up with John and Toby making big ground
Under 9’s-Well from freezing wind and rain to sunny skies and temperatures in the mid-20s, our boys enjoyed the change in weather on Saturday. Both teams played well, with one loss and one win. As we were about half a dozen boys down due to injury and illness, several boys backed up to play both games. Stand out performances by Harry, Fabian and Kayden this week. With only 4 games left in the season, the boys are really stepping up their game and playing great defense. Thanks to all volunteers who helped on the day.
Under 11/12 dev cup – In hot conditions at Gatton the boys played some patchy football at times. Young Gillmeister made some fantastic runs for our team. It is important to remember that no matter who plays we should not think we cannot compete. If you all played the full match like you did in the last 10 minutes, the result I am sure would have been a different ball game. Let’s look forward to today when we play the mighty Bears.
Under 11 – A great effort by valleys under 11 against Gatton. Defensively the boys competed strongly by working as a team with group tackling which was great to see. Outstanding defense and man of the match performance by Coban Lam. Opportunities with attack came as the team stayed true to the game plan with some impressive individual performance by Isaiah Heilig with his dummy half runs and Ricardo Burns with and brilliant individual try. Overall strong performance by valleys with the team improving each week
Under 15’s – Taking to the field with 12 players in total against a full Gatton side, the boys put on an amazing game. All the training and hard work has been paying off with our last two games ending up in draws. Great to see the positive spirit, attitude and support for each other on and off the field! Through your commitment and dedication each week, we are proving how far we have come as a team. Can’t express how proud we are of you all we are. Kris and Kristie
Under 16’s – Thanks for a solid effort this week boys. With only 2 reserves everyone had good game time this week. Thanks to Gatton for hosting us on your special day. Only a few games left so keep up the good work. Craig and Vicki
