Under 8 write up: In extremely cold conditions at home valleys took on Dalby. The boys are really coming together with tackling like the big boys and some off loads and solid passing. Impressive efforts from Jimmy Brunner and Tyler Robinson.
Daniel’s write up from other under 8 game: Boys played well after a few weeks off they were keen to get to get back into it with some good attacking runs and some solid defence they really moved up in line well and made some really good tackles some great defensive efforts from Chris Troutman who always plays above his size and some great runs from Jacko Ryan and Denver and great organising from Tray and Bray.
Under 9’s -The boys played well on Saturday in some very unpleasant conditions. They braved the cold and the wet to put on a fine show against Dalby. It was great to see some of the boys stepping up who are usually more in the background, and seeing some hold their own against some tough competition. Well done to all boys, and many thanks to the volunteers who help make game day happen.
Under 11 – nobody could say you all didn’t put in 110% at valleys on a freezing cold and wet Saturday! Everyone worked hard as a team against the strong Dalby side and we were very proud of you all.
Under 11/12 – Congrats boys on another fantastic win! Everyone played above and beyond their abilities. You should all be very proud of how far you have all progressed.
U/12’s – Wow, what a great game of footy! Although it was freezing, Valleys were on fire! Our Roosters certainly came out with only one thing on their mind, at that was to win! The wet weather put both teams to the test, but Valleys managed to rise above the slippery conditions and everyone on the team made some fantastic tackles. There were some marvellous plays by our Roosters, and they were rewarded with 2 tries (Kuger, Domenic), with Domenic converting his own try. Valleys led at half time, 10-8. The second half was an even better performance by our Roosters! Although the Devils never gave up, Valleys continued to maintain focus on the game and our Roosters were rewarded with a try to Jordain, with Zac successfully converting the try. Valleys managed to hold on and win the game 16 to 12. It was an awesome win to Valleys. But what was even better, was watching our boys continue to encourage and bring out the best in each other. Keep training hard Roosters, and more wins will follow!
U13 – Great effort against a very good Dalby Team. Good to see that we have complete commitment from the majority of the boys. It is the way a team is developed and it takes small steps to get where we want too. You never gave up and we are improving every week. Keep the great effort up!!! Scotty and Clemy
Under 15’s – Great game today against Dalby in awful conditions. The effort we put in was outstanding and the spirit we played the game in made me proud to be your coach. Kris and Kristie
Under 16’s – In what can only be described as atrocious conditions we hosted the Dalby boys at Pillar Street. With cold, wet, windy conditions, a low scoring game was to be expected and that’s what we got. It was a game which could’ve gone either way but the bounce of the ball wasn’t with us on this one and with 3 of our starting 13 out of action we knew we had to put in an extra big effort……unfortunately we just couldn’t make up the one try deficit. Let’s put in a big effort for the rest of the season. Craig and Vicki
Under 15/16 Youth Cup- Well done to the youth cup boys who braved the conditions to give Dalby a great game. We didn’t quite get the job done but finishing with only nine player, the club spirit on display was brilliant. I’m very proud of all of you. Joshua.
