Under 8’s
Write up from Daniel Robinson for second under 8s team: going to souths the boys knew they were in for a hard game. Our attack was great with Ryan and Toby outstanding with the ball in hand.
First under 8’s team – Our defence was outstanding with Tuie and Bray leading the way the boys got off the line well and move as a unit I was very proud with all the efforts our team and especially with our defence great effort boys.

Under 9’s – The Red Team went down to Souths today 6 tries to 3. Was very windy & cold out on the field. 2 tries went to Joseph Kelly & 1 try to Cooper Tobin. High Tackle counts were recorded for Cooper, Harry, Fabian & Sam. We also had some terrific runs gaining lots of ground from Harry, Sam & Tyler. Fabian as the 1st receiver goes hard in defence & works consistently in every game.

Under 10’s
Team red had a hard game against the mighty tigers who were leading most of the game. To the credit of the roosters who turned the encounter around with solid defense by Bugsy Tarrant, G train Luke Jordell and captain rocket Ricardo. Tries to Jacko Tarrant two for dynamic Jordell and a hat trick for Ricardo impressive stuff well done coach. Tim
Team black – with captain tough guy Tom leading the troops for an entertaining game of league which ended in a draw. Outstanding work load shared by the crunch man Bugsy Danny o the pocket rocket hoppy. Dane Nick slick Danny e Jack h. ALSO playing well Jack f and George working strong around the ruck. Good to see little big man Liam pulling off a great try saving tackle. Excellent job roosters. Coach Tim

Under 11’s – great work Saturday boys working together as a team and playing where you’re shown in training. Everyone worked hard to produce some good tries and save a few too.

Under 11/12 dev cup – Saturday against Souths we seen some great plays and then some hard mistakes but everyone tried hard to correct the play. Teamwork could’ve been better and listening to each other is key to changing plays on the spot. Training this week with a few of you together has and will certainly only help us all as a team.
Under 12’s- What a great game by both Souths and Valleys in extremely windy conditions! Both teams came out wanting the win, but it was our Roosters that were the first to put points on the board. It was fantastic to see the Valleys U/12’s working together as a team in their defensive and attacking plays and it really showed on the scoreboard with Valleys scoring 3 tries in the first half, whilst Souths only managed to score 1 try. As both teams missed their conversions, the 1st half score was 12-4 in favour of Valleys. The second half was a nail-biter, with both teams managing to score 3 tries each. Whilst Souths managed to convert all 3 of their 2nd half tries, Valleys only managed to convert 1. But luckily, our Roosters still came away with the win and defeated Souths 26 to 20.
Under 15’s- A disappointing weekend for the team after a loss against Souths. A lot more training on defense needed this week to prepare for our next game. We need to stick to what we learn through our training nights and keep pushing through the full length of each game. Heads up and prepare for our next game. Rooster! Kris

Youth cup write up:
On a cold afternoon our boys put forward a great effort to defeat souths. The improvement our lads have shown through the year is simply remarkable. Everyone that took the field put up a great effort and it is really showing in how much the boys are enjoying their footy. This weekend we look forward to keeping our positive start to the year going against Highfields. Josh Mason

VALLEYS V SOUTHS 16s -It was a tough tussle with Souths this week, once again our first half let us down. We need to come out firing from the kick off and build on our strengths. Keep to the game plan and play smart, that’s all we need to do. Craig
