Under 7’s- Thanks to all the players making the trip to Dalby. Each team played a well, putting in 100% despite the heat. Again all of the players contributed some fantastic moves which made for a rewarding game to watch. It’s also fantastic to see our valleys supporters cheering on words of encouragement for our young under 7 roosters!!
Under 8’s: This week we took on the Dalby devils in 3 matches in warm conditions even at 8:30am!! The boys are going great with running straight and hard. A special shout out to Raquille, Jack Borg and Kaleb for making big ground with their strong runs. Also to Denver on his excellent tackling efforts.
Under 9’s – The White Team had a draw being 7 tries all. Kayden Wright scored 4 of these, 1 to Declan Reen & 2 to Lucas Slater. Tackle count was great to Caleb Robertson Rory Miller & Lucas Slater. Weather conditions were very muggy so the boys played extremely well. The Red Team had a win today 8 tries to 7. Tyler Yung scored 3, Bundy Hanrahan scored 1, Alex Lucock & Sam Lorenz scored 2 each. Harry Whittingham, Cooper Tobin & Fabian Thomas had a huge tackle count. Again under very muggy conditions the boys all played well as a team. A big thank you to Sonia Lorenz for stepping up as team manager today, and many thanks to all the wonderful volunteers who make it happen every week.
Under 10’s
Rooster Red -Always good to see Chris, Carl and the young devils the roosters display great skills in taking the game away from Dalby outstanding defensive and hit up effort led by Bugsy with all roosters tackling well. Tries to Tom, Tarrant, George, Ricardo, with Jordell bagging an amazing five. Keep up the good work- well done coach. Tim and staff.
Rooster Black – The young Roosters looked off their game against Dalby with the young devils getting the upper hand. Our valleys boys put in a terrific defensive effort with the boys not giving up. Leading the charge this week was Nate, Luke, Jack H, Danny O, with Tyreece and Snot doing their fair share. Great effort roosters. Coach Tim and staff
Under 11’s – It was a hot Saturday against a strong Dalby team. You all tried your best to make ground and get through the defence line and never gave up. So proud of you all for showing great sportsmanship until the end of the game. Daren, Kevin & Justine.
Under 12’s – What a tough game of footy the boys had to endure in the heat against Dalby. The first half saw the Devils come out hungry for points and they managed to put 3 tries on the scoreboard. However, our Roosters fired back and managed to score a try which was successfully converted. This put the scoreboard at 14-6 in favour of Dalby at the end of the first half. The second half sadly belonged to Dalby as our boys struggled to keep the Devils away from the try line. However, Dalby managed to score another 5 tries. Unfortunately we weren’t good enough on the day and Dalby came away with the victory with the final score being 36-8. We’re sure our boys will pull together and train hard as a team and give Gatton a run for their money next week!
Under 11/12 dev cup- Saturday we made the trip to Dalby for our second round and came away with a win. You boys are all coming together as a great little team. Very pleased to see some outstanding plays from every player on the field. Go Roosters! Josh, Kevin & Justine.
Under 13’s – We came up against a very strong Dalby Team. We showed some great things with the ball and can match any team in the Comp .But we also have to defend. We need to work on our contact and sticking the tackle. Keep your heads up boys and let’s move on to some good hard footy!! Scotty and Clemy
Under 13/14 dev cup- We played Dalby on the weekend and the boys came together well having their second win of the season. We had three new boys who have just joined valleys and all three put in very impressive performances. Alex Bellette scored his first try playing Rugby League and then went on to score two in the game. Well done to all boys that put their hands up to play. It is a great start to the season and hopefully we can continue on this path for the rest of the year.
Under 14’s The boys travelled out to Dalby on Saturday and with a few injuries to key players we knew it was going to be a hard task. The boys stuck with them in the first half but were unable to go with them in the second half although the effort was there. Khalil Hopkins, Mac Grealy and Josh Collins were our best on the day. Very important we don’t drop our heads and all get to training. Cheers Ryan & Shorty
Under 15 -Thanks to Dalby for a good game. The score did not reflect the game, Defence & ball movement from both sides was first class, and we just did not finish off as good as Dalby. Too many dropped balls on 4th & 5th tackle. With some fine tuning & a full team on the paddock we can show what a true team we are. Kris & Kristie
U/15-16-Thanks must go to Dalby for a good solid game. Coaching this team is a pleasure- everyone was having fun & all are happy to play where ever they are asked, which the secret to being a team is. Keep it going for when Josh returns. Thank you boys. Kris & Kristie
Under 16’s – It is always a tough road trip to Dalby, especially on a Saturday night and with 8 players unavailable we knew everyone would need to dig deep, play tough and play for each other and for the Roosters. I am proud to say that is exactly what happened. It was an even and sometimes see-sawing game both with possession and the score. Unfortunately, with a limited bench and late injuries, Dalby capitalised on some late possession to put on some late tries and blow out the score which didn’t reflect the closeness of the game. Thanks to all boys for your efforts. You don’t win premierships in round two. Craig.
