It was a nice morning on Saturday for a game, Valley’s went to Souths. U6’s had games at the same time and to be taken by different coaches, both coaches said how well they played, well done roosters! A few U6’s helped out the under U7’s well done boys very proud that you’s got in and gave it a good go getting out of that Comfort zone and taking on a challenge, the team I had against a big south side could not have done a better job great work boys!

Valleys Under 7s played against Souths on the weekend. It was a beautiful day for a game of footy. Thanks heaps to the Under 6s for stepping up and playing in the Under 7s games. There was not enough players for the children to have a break this weekend but the children still did a fantastic job playing an entire game and continued to keep trying for the whole match.

Field 1 – Today we played Souths which was a very entertaining game with both sides showing their skills. Our boys were very good defensively improving on last week. Carter and Cayleb leading the way and our smaller boys Caden and Frank doing a great job. It’s great to see the boys starting to pass the ball around well.
Coach: Darren O’Neil
Man of the Match – Carter McGrady
Player’s Player – Frank Jones
Player’s Player – Sheileen Tatow-McIntosh
Field 2 – Great game Saturday up against Souths. Our little Roosters played a much bigger side which meant big strong tackles as well as taking hard tackles themselves. We managed to run around them and make some good tries in the end to make it an even match. We are finally learning to stay away from the sideline and cut through the middle with a few of the kids attempting to offload. Well done everyone!
Coach: Michael Wilkinson
Man of the Match – Nash Schwenke
Player’s Player – Nate Wilson
Field 3 – It was a fantastic effort from the whole team against Souths. Some of the work the team has been putting in at training is really starting to pay off! Mason had his best game of the season and along with Jayden laid a really good platform for the rest of the team to attack. Some great tries from Quade and Max really opening up the Souths defence. Looking forward to Pittsworth next week!
Coach: Charles Howe
Man of the Match – Jack Sharpe
Player’s Player – Mason Williamson

On Saturday we played the Tigers in 2 good games of footy at Gold Park. It was Scotty’s sock it to cancer day in honour of Souths and Toowoomba Rugby League legend Scott Kuhnamann. Both our under tens teams looked great in their green socks with a big thanks to JRS Manufacturing for sponsoring the boys. In our first game we came out a little bit slow and need to continue working hard at training on our defense and moving up in a straight line. Hamish Cochrane made some great tackles and was well support by Jackson Brown who it was great to have back. We attacked well in stages but still need to support each other better and run hard onto the ball. The second game was similar to the first game with Emily Gill having a great game in defense. There were some good runs by the boys and it was great to see Kane Longstaff find some space in his first game of the season. Overall it was a good day at the footy. Keep it up boys.

Last game of round one and we finished with a bang. Excellent enthusiasm and effort were on show along with great teamwork until the final buzzer. As coaching staff we could not be prouder of the way this team is coming together and improving week in week out. Our end goal is certainly in reach and we hope you are all enjoying the journey as much as we are. Lets make the most of two weeks training before round two and enjoy the bye this Saturday.

On the weekend we took on Souths. We were lacking across the entire field. Hold your heads up boys and make the necessary changes at training and come out bigger and better for the next game.
