It was another big weekend of football for the Under 7’s playing 3 games against Pittsworth. It was great to see some of the young roosters tackling confidently and running the ball well. The young roosters are still learning how to work together as a team which will be a focus at training this week.

Game 1 – We’re getting to halfway through the season and all of the defensive effort the kids put in at training is showing. Pittsworth arrived with much bigger kids but the team didn’t shy away from the defensive effort, putting their tackling skills to the test and working together. Rianna, Nick and Mason got stuck in and got them down. Tyrese, Jack and Max then turned the defence into attack with some great long range tries, It’s really good to see the team spirit with the team now making an effort to congratulate each other. The talk on the field is improving each week and I reckon we’ve got a few captains and halves in the team. Great work guys.
Coach: Charles Howe
Man of the Match – Tyrese Duncan-Brown
Player’s Player – Rianna Gibbs
Game 2 – Awesome game on Saturday against the Souths Tigers at Gold Park. The eager little Roosters played amazing against the strong Souths line up. Solid tackles and hard runs with Oliver Baker putting his body on the line countless times. We managed to put a fair few in the corners where Souths got through the middle. It was a great even match up. We have learnt to stay away from the sideline and our ball skills are on point. Very little knock-ons and wild passes on our behalf. Well done everyone!
Coach: Michael Wilkinson
Man of the Match – Oliver Baker
Player’s Player – Harry Pollard
Game 3 – Our boys played a competitive Souths side and played very well as a team. Jace Galligan had his best game of the season so far and a special mention to our little man Frank who is improving every week. We also played an extra game mixing the boys up from all 3 teams against a very strong Pittsworth team. We were super proud of our boys not backing down from a much bigger side. It really made our boys throw the ball around a lot which enabled us to score a few impressive tries.

The boys played at Souths this weekend with a massive improvement in our defence we held Souths out for 3 sets in a row on our try line I am super impressed with there performance and the boys are working really well together in attack we’re looking better and better each week. Dan’s team
We played Pittsworth this morning in a very entertaining game of footy. Both sides played really well. Our boys really improved in the second half. They produced some nice passes to put teammates in space. The first receivers tried really hard to run onto the ball, which we worked on at training this week. Man of the match – Lincoln Dempsey. Lincoln was outstanding in Defense. He tackled low and hard and knocked over their bigger players to get his team back in the game.

On Saturday our 2 under 10s teams were split up. With one team playing Pittsworth at home and the other heading to Gold Park to play Souths again. Against Souths the boys went well. In attack we have been working on running onto the ball and drawing and passing. We did this well in parts and it created so good opportunities for the boys to get into some space. Our defense was good when we moved up in a straight and made the effort to get in front of the bigger Souths boys.
The second game was similar to the first in that when we ran onto the ball we made some great runs. With Macca and Kye really leading the way. In defense we tried hard and continue to improve. We had a few players ill on Saturday so we needed a couple of kids to play both games. I’d like to thank the boys and their parents for getting to Gold Park and Valleys.

Well what a great day out today for the boys in a convincing win over Pittsworth. Everything we did at training through the week was put in place today, and the result showed. The whole team played as one with great enthusiasm and commitment, especially in defence. Today’s best players were Rory “Gordon” Miller with great defence all day, followed by Wes Berthelsen and Declan Reen who was also voted players player. Well done team , remember train hard and play for each other….. Bryce Tobin and crew….

Wow! What an amazing nail biter of a game to watch today against Pittsworth. Even though we never train together as a team we worked hard to bring home the well deserved win. This game has marked the end of round 1 and we would like to take this opportunity to thank all our players and parents for a fantastic round! With every game this team continues to improve and impress.

Very proud of our team today in under 14s. We want to thank the Pittsworth team for coming to give us a game. Our boys were excellent from the kick off and scored some well created try’s early. Our line speed was outstanding. And the team has really built well during the first round. It looks as though we have qualified for the Presidents Cup which is a great achievement. This week we play Brothers. Look forward to getting ready for round 2.

This week we took on Pittsworth at Valleys and came away with a hard fort win. It was great to see the confidence is finally starting to return which allowed for some entertaining footy to being played. Very proud of the effort the boys who turned up displayed competing in every play. Special mention to Khalil Hopkins who is leading the try scoring for the competition with 12.
