Weekly Team Write Ups v Pittsworth 10th August

Team Write Ups

Under 6’s
Under 6’s played a fantastic game at Pittsworth. It was freezing cold & very windy but the little champions still played. They ran onto the field with a black band on their arm, to show respect to our under 10’s coach Dan Foulds, who has just lost his wife. They only had 1 game, but they got a few tries in & stopped a few as well in that short time. Well done under 6’s, you make me proud. Rissa

Under 7’s
We went to Pittsworth on Saturday and it was a windy day U7’s had a late game so it was cold as well. But they didn’t let that worry them they played a great game. I love how they support each other even if one makes a mistake. Their tackles where all on point everyone giving it 100% well done boys and miss Tallahni.

Under 8’s
What an awesome game had by Valleys under 8’s out at Pittsworth last weekend. For some of the team this was their first night game under lights AND THEY LOVED IT! Also first game without Coach Dan on the field with them. Great start to transitioning into under 9’s next year.

Under 9’s
Almost the last game for the day against Pittsworth on Saturday and we were met with horrible cold winds. The conditions made us unable to throw the ball around as much as usual and instead the team charged through the middle making multiple try scoring breaks. The Roosters defensive efforts were spot on allowing domination for most of the game. Nate played really well in a team he normally doesn’t play in and Hayden who played up from U8’s dug in deep with defence and attack and scored himself a try – thanks for helping out!

Coach: Darren O’Neil

Brilliant game by the under 9 Roosters today. Awesome teamwork on display with a second player going in to help keep the player with the ball in the tackle on the field. The team had one of their best games of the season. Defence was on point, with brilliant marker work, keeping Brothers scoreless. Well done team!

Today was probably one of the hardest games to coach but I have never ever been more proud to call myself a rooster and be involved with footy in Toowoomba as your all aware of the loss our family has had to endure this week I am so proud and honoured by the support from not only my team and club but the whole Toowoomba football community we had our minute silence at both games at Pittsworth and Brothers and everyone wore there black arm bands and then wow the boys played out of there skins, my son Cory had the best game of his life and all the other guys seemed to lift to another level in attack and defence and they did it all for J my wife, the weekend games meant so much to me and I couldn’t be any prouder of the guys it’s just a shame the season is nearly over so let’s rip in to the last 2 games and finish the year on a high once again thanks to the rugby league community.

On Saturday we travelled out to Pittsworth to take on the Danes. In very windy conditions both teams passed the ball around very well. Our boys are really attacking well in patches and its good to see their skills continue to improve. We still need to work on our defense and stay committed for the full game. Overall it was a very good game by the boys and it’s great to see everyone have a go. Well done boys .

Under 12’s
On a cold and windy day on Saturday our boys started off with some great defence in the 1st half. we went to the sheds feeling confident of a win in the 2nd half. But with a couple of injuries this left our bench down to zero and Pittsworth were to good. We will hopefully have a full team back this weekend against Souths so we will be looking forward to that..
Thanks

Under 12 Girls
On Friday night the U12 girls travelled to Kingaroy to play and it was fantastic that all the team could make the trip out there to play or watch their last game and be there for Lily. The girls all played well. Jaime, Sakrett, Tallara, Emily & Breana made some good runs. Kingaroy even had the score board on for the girls. Most of the girls scored tries and Lily did a brilliant job defending the line with tackle after tackle stopping Kingaroy from scoring. These girls have truly showed their team ship throughout the season with their team mates. Hope making the trip out even though she couldn’t play due to injury to be there to support her team. It has truly been a pleasure coaching these girls and I have loved hearing their achievements on & off the field. We would also like to take this opportunity to wish Jaime all the best with DD. Looking forward to seeing them on the field and seeing them play and enjoy the game.
Shirley & Chloe.

It was cold, windy and dusty but the boys were on fire! Well done team on another amazing effort by all. Try hard and have fun is the goal every week you boys are certainly smashing the expectations. Please keep coming to training both days of the week as the season comes to an end and we move into the finals. Although we do not train as a team it’s very important you train with your age group.

Under 16’s
Very proud of all the boys! We faced a tough and very cold challenge playing Pittsworth at home Saturday night. Everyone did their job and we got the win under very trying circumstances.
