U6 roosters played Gatton at home, we had three games and all three teams played Awesome they all gave 100% well done boys very proud of you all. Play of the day goes to Mighty Mouse Derrilin, he is one of our smallest players and he took down some big Gatton players in one on one tackles. It doesn’t matter how small you are it’s how big your heart is! Valley’s has a lot of heart. Keep up the good work boys.

On the weekend the Under 7 Roosters played Gatton at our home grounds. The young Roosters are really starting to develop their football skills and understand the game better. I think all their training is helping them heaps.

Game 1 – It was a cold start to the morning but the whole team showed up and was eager to play. Gatton had some serious size about them and our team took a little while to get used to tackling them. Max and Jack led the way with the tackling and it helped the others get into it as well. Max managing to roll one of the Gatton players on their back to hold them up in the in-goal, it was something to watch! The whole team played well in attack with Jayden getting across for a try and some really strong hit-ups which set the platform for Quade, Tyrese and co. to run riot. Thanks to Tim and the Hawks for the game.

Cookies under 9’s had a tough match this week against South’s Tigers. The boys had to dig deep during the later part of the game against the strong South’s. We saw some great defence work from Xavier and Kobe. Chase, Lincoln and Kade made some good runs as well. This weeks man of the match goes to Xavier Newton for showing us some great determination in the last half of the game.

Thanks to Gatton for a good game of footy. I was very proud of the boys effort today. We improved the longer the game went and were playing for each other. Phoenix was Scott Sattler like, pulling off a try saving tackle in the corner when everyone thought it was a certain try. Man of the match – Tom Siebuhr, he never took a backward step.
They boys had a tough game today against Gatton who are a big side I’m super proud of there defensive effort and helping each other out it was a great game of footy they’re starting to know there roles and taking there opportunities when they arise will cook had a very solid defensive game against kids much bigger than him solid effort guys keep it up.

We welcomed Gatton Hawks to Pillar St this week for 2 tough games of footy. In the first game we came up against a red hot Gatton side that we had a lot of trouble containing. The boys tried hard and made some great tackles especially from Boston and Tyler Yuide but the hawks were a bit too good for us on the day. In the second game we came up against a very big Gatton side. The boys showed some real commitment in defense and got in front of the larger hawks boys. In attack we had one of our best games of the season with Hayden Delaney and Tui Rei really combining well for a number of tries. Overall the young Roosters will take a lot out of both games and continue to improve through out the season.

Game 1
Today we took on a very committed Gatton team. Even though the boys tried hard, we couldn’t get the points. We need to work on our defensive line speed and cut down the basic errors. Thank you to all the boys who played so we could actually put a team on the field.
Best player today was Logan Brown
Game 2
In this game was great to see boys working together and working as a team.
Whilst all played well, best player today was Rory Miller and Players player was Daniel Pole.
See you all Tuesday!

Great game boys! Everyone played an excellent game in attack and defence. We’re slowly coming out the other side of the early season injuries and reaping the rewards of all our hard work at training.

Well the warm up must’ve been great for the first game of winter because we did not miss a beat. The effort and sportsmanship of every single player was an outstanding 100%. It’s great to see the players in their first year of footy improving with every game.

This afternoon, our impressive Valleys U14 Premier team took on a courageous Gatton U14 Premier team at home. As the teams took the field, it was evident that this was going to be a great match up, and the players didn’t disappoint. Throughout the game, our Roosters were clinical in their defensive structure as they managed to keep the Hawks to 2 tries for the entire game. Offensively, Valleys really stepped up and were rewarded with 8 tries. It was fantastic to see our Roosters working hard collectively as a crew and the team should be proud of themselves. Overall, it was an impressive game to watch and in the end, Valleys defeated Gatton 38-10. Rooster tries went to Domenic Whittingham (3), Riley Hill, Kooper Diment, Dillon McFeeters and Logan Weribone with successful conversions to Jordain Beezley (2) and Yarran Willis-Duncan. Thanks for an incredible game boys and we’ll see you all at training on Tuesday.
