Was a bit of an icy morning on Saturday but the U6’s warmed up and play against Oakey on our ground. The boys played well some outstanding tackling. Was a great start to round 2! Patrick S was on fire not letting the cold bother him well done mate keep up the good work.

The under 7 Roosters played Oakey at Valleys on the weekend. It was a bit of a cold start for the young Roosters but eventually they were warmed up and started passing, catching and running the ball well. Thanks to the young Roosters who showed great team spirit and helped out the Oakey Bears who were short of players. It was great to see them try hard and score tries for another team and I think our Valleys Under 7s enjoyed playing against their teammates also. Great start back at footy for the young roosters after the school holidays.

Game 1 – Valleys v Oakey

The kids obviously missed their footy! Everyone came back and put in some great performances against Oakey. Best game of the year so far for Mason and Rianna. They both had some really strong runs and big defensive efforts. There was a bit of defensive rust early on but clearly the team hadn’t forgotten how to attack and they worked really well together stringing some nice offloads on their way to the try line. It was great to see the team run over and congratulate the try scorers, great team spirit. Thanks to Oakey for travelling and playing on a VERY cold morning.

Coach: Charles Howe

Man of the Match – Mason Williamson

Player’s Player – Tyrese Duncan-Brown

Game 2 – Valleys v Valleys

Wow! This game certainly impressed. They were all out to show their team mates what they could do! We saw some great runs and even better tackles, the break surely did them some good. Our next game is against Dalby at Dalby so let’s see if we can do the same this weekend team.

Coach: Darren O’Neil & Michael Wilkinson

Dan’s team, today we played the Oakey Bears. Oakey were good defensively so we really had to work hard for any room. To the boys and girls credit we kept trying and working together. We got better as the game went on. Junior had some good runs and never stopped trying. Jerome was good in defence on our line.

The boys started really well today and looked organized right from the get go. It what was a high quality game we showed we are thinking about our game and playing as a team. Ryan was super and in everything. Tom, Mason and Phoenix were very good. It was a good team performance

On Saturday we played 2 games. In the first game we played Oakey. We played really well against the Bears with some great defense led by our 2 big hitters in Boston Norton and Charlie Barnes. That helped get our confidence up which really help get our attack going. We threw the ball around and supported each other really well. Kaellan Duncan was a real handful whenever he ran and Jack Allen did some great draw and passing to put his support runners away. In the second game our 2 Valleys teams squared off against each other. Both teams played really well. It was played in a great spirit with bragging rights on the line. We usually don’t keep score but the boys decided we had too for this one. Thankfully for us it finished in a draw. Thanks to the 4 under 9 boys who played up and to all the boys that played in the 8.30 game then hung around till 12.10 so everyone could get a game of footy.

On a cold morning for football, today we played a spirited Oakey team. After a slow start in the first half, the boys soon warmed up to the task in the second to get the win. Some great defence from our FR Cooper Tobin who led the way and topped the tackle count. In attack, Logan Brown made some really great runs up the middle. Today’s best three players were Copper Tobin, Sam Lorenz and Logan Brown. Players player was also Sam. Well done boys on your win today.

It’s been a huge week back at footy after three weeks off training, four weeks since our last game and our first game in a long time with no one out injured. Effort and teamwork were at a nice high level today. We need to work on calling for runs when we’re on the field if it doesn’t happen the first time call again and be ready to take it. It was an outstanding game by all and we couldn’t be prouder. Thanks to Oakey for coming in and playing us in what was an all round great day of Junior Rugby League.

Was an incredible game of football played by the under 14 boys on Saturday in the Presidents Cup verse Oakey. Oakey exploded out of the gates and led 10 nil through some very good play aided by some poor discipline from us. We kept working hard though and at half time we were lucky only be down 20 to 10. Half time was a big help. We were able to settle down and focus on the job at hand and came back from the break and played as well as we could. We scored 34 unanswered points in the second half and ran out convincing winners 44 -20. I remain incredibly proud of my team and it’s players. You have trained hard for a year and a half and are starting to get the rewards you deserve. Every body in the team did their job and it’s why we won. Bring on the Broncos

This week we played Oakey and came away with the win. We were missing a few players but the boys dug in and played some great footy. Big game coming up this week so back to the training field to work on refining our game.
