Under 7’s – What a great start to the season. The under 7’s played beautifully as a team, with good demonstration of ball skills, passing, tackling and not to mention the incredible tries!! A big thanks to the efforts of our dedicated coaches – Dan, Matt, Michael and Nathan. The time and knowledge you have shown our boys this year is much appreciated and noticeable on the field. Go the Roosters!
Under 8s: We have had a great interest and support for under 8s this year with high numbers registered. Two teams ran on against Brothers and played wonderful footy. Our little roosters are developing core skills due to pre-season trial matches. Congratulations to our McDonalds players of the match Tristan, Charlie, Jimmy and Kane. See you all at training.
Under 9’s – It was a beautiful day for the first official game of the season. The under 9’s are coming together well as a team as the boys from last year and our six newbies learn to play together effectively. Tries went to Kayden Wright, Tae-Lyn Craig, Harry Whittingham, Sam Lorenz, Alex Lucock and newcomers Keanu King and Tyler Yung. All boys had lots of runs and there was a huge tackle count with Alex Lucock and Lucas Slater both reaching double digits for their efforts. Well done to all the boys, and to the parents who turn up week after week. Many thanks to Brothers for the game, and to the volunteers at Valleys who make it all happen.
Under 10’s– Great start to the season. Great to see so many kids turn up to play footy for the mighty Roosters. All kids enjoyed themselves on Saturday and are showing a lot of commitment on the field and at training. Keep up the great work. Muggo
Under 11’s – Great way to start the season boys with a win under your belts. Some boys really stepped up at times today and showed form we have never seen before. Awesome work keep it up! Daren, Kevin and Justine.
Under 11/12 dev cup – What a game today boys. You all played so well again with players you’ve only trained or played with a couple of times. We are very proud of you all!
Under 12’s – What a terrific day to start the season, not too hot or cold and a real buzz in the air that we were underway for 2016. Congratulations to the Brothers U/12‘s who came out firing. It was a tough game and they reminded us that we have to turn up committed to playing our best if we are to win games. Not our best outcome but boys we put that one behind us and start getting serious from now on if we want to be in the finals. Lick the wounds and get ready for training this week, see you there Kenny, Michael, and the gang.
Under 13’s – Valleys vs Brothers 6-18. We showed some great things today but the little things let us down. Let’s keep training and the improvement will keep happening. Good luck to the boys playing in the Clydesdales and Development teams. Scotty and Clemy.
Under 14’s – On Saturday the under 14s took on brothers in what was a fiery match. Starting the first 10 minutes how we had planned, we were the first to put points on the Board. From that point on the boys lost their way and Brother’s put on 20 points heading into the sheds 20-6 up at halftime. Very unhappy with our efforts over that 20 minute period, the boys came out in the second half and played some decent footy. With the score being 20-16 for the last 10 minutes of the game. Unfortunately we fell short and couldn’t come home with the Win. We will take a lot from that loss and get to training and work hard ready for Dalby next week. Congratulations to brothers.
15/16 youth cup– Today we saw a great effort from the youth cup boys, many of them getting the thrill of playing under lights for the first time. It was a highly entertaining game with most of our boys having already played close to a full game and it was pleasing to see so many smiles on faces in the sheds after the game. Thanks to chinchilla for making the big trip to have a game against the young roosters.
Under 15 – It was great to see the boys all return back for a great season and a huge welcome to all our new players. In our first game of the season, it was a very tough encounter with Brothers, with us displaying great commitment in the area of defense. Just a few dropped balls and errors and the score could well have been in our favour. Keep working on our set plays and commit to training hard and listening to coach and 2015 with be a great year. Chris
Under 16s – In our first game of the season we played host to our cross town rivals Brothers. We put on some early points however we just couldn’t find our rhythm. This is only round one so there’s a lot of footy to come and plenty of hard work ahead. We travel to Dalby for our next game, let’s all work together to play the footy we are capable of.
Craig and Vicki.
