Team Writes Up v Oakey

Under 7’s
We went to Oakey on Saturday, both teams played great they are working well together, they have had a big couple of weeks at training so with 6 games left I’m excited to see them rested and ready to go after the break.

Under 8’s
Another fantastic game for the valleys under 8’s this week. Only one game for us which gave us the chance to work on our interchange, got a bit of work to do in that area. Something just clicked this week for our under 8’s, it seems like they’ve realised the opposition can’t run without their legs! Some fantastic tackles by players who in previous games have been dubious about getting in on the tackles. Every week this team keeps going up and up, improving skills and being better then last week, fantastic game to watch.

Today we started very slow letting Oakey get an early lead. The team finally kicked into gear in the 2nd quarter with a few quick tries. Standouts today were Jace, Nash and Jimmy. Enjoy the break, see you after the holidays.

Our last game before school holidays and we have been working really hard on our line speed and communication which showed in an awesome 2 games of footy on Saturday vs Oakey we had some monster defensive games from Cooper Haylock and Cooper Suey who were absolute monsters from marker and put on some really good hard tackles all in all it was a great team effort and everyone played out of there skin and we also had some great ball movement from the guys looking for gaps on the edges which set up some amazing tries guys have work really hard so far enjoy your time off and refresh ready to rip in to the second half of the season.

On Saturday we travelled out to Oakey to play against the Bears for our last game before the break. It was a great game of footy with both teams improving from the first round. There were some good tries scored by both sides. In attack we are moving the ball around well and scored some outstanding tries all over the field. In defense our effort was much improved from the previous week and we made some great tackles.

11/12 Dev. Cup
The 11/12 dc boys played outstanding on the weekend against Oakey. We would like to wish the Oakey player a speedy recovery. We will see everyone after the holiday.

13/14 Dev. Cup
Another great game this week boys with an outstanding effort by all. It was a proud moment for us all to watch the way you all adapted to a different game strategy due to only playing with 11 on the field. Everyone has gelled together well and the teamwork is amazing. Well done and keep up the excellent work team! See you all at training this week. Everyone enjoy and stay safe during the holidays.

Today was a disappointing loss 30-16. Oakey came out hard in the first half and wanted it more, our boys lacked discipline and structure and half time couldn’t come quick enough. The boys came out at half time and started making some ground, started putting points on the board but it just wasn’t enough, we are proud of their NEVER GIVE UP attitude. Tries this week go to Dom, Koop with 2 and 2 conversations to Dom. Lane and Sela had a cracker of a game both boys making plenty of metres.. Heads up ROOSTERS there’s plenty of football yet to play, enjoy the holidays and rest your bodies, Thanks Josh and Barb.

Our road trip to Murgon didn’t get the win but the boys certainly did their club proud and kept their cool during a very physical game of country football on a boggy field. We’ve recruited a few new lads to the team over recent weeks and look forward to having our full team back after the holiday break. We’ve improved so much on and off the field!

Under 17 Girls
Friday night was at home against Warwick and it was FREEZING!! We were short on players due to injuries but the girls who ran on really stepped it up. Our speed off the line is improving and our defense is solid. Keep working hard ladies. Can’t wait to see what you bring in Round 2.
