Under 6’s
Under 6’s played 3 games this past weekend. They did a fantastic job & seem to be getting right into the game now. I’ve seen a lot of happy faces, when they pulled the tags off the other team & when they scored a try. Keep up the great work. Very proud manager here. Rissa.

On Saturday Dalby came to us, we had three games which was great, gave all the kids a good run! U7’s are really starting to communicate I don’t have to be up close with them all the time, I can hear them telling each other to spread out and to pass, their passing skills are great and there foot work ability is strong, U7’s have smaller players then most teams so they need to step in and around the other players I’ve seen this skill shine a lot on Saturday Derrilin has amazing foot work even though he is a smaller player he can weave in and around while still moving forward. Our bigger boys are getting stronger really using there legs and pushing themselves to go that extra few steps to gain ground and also are faster runner’s having that ability to run up the side lines but still being able to plant there feet while being tackled so they don’t go out. All players done there best that they could do on that day so well done Roosters always proud.
Under 8’s
Under 8’s had 3 great games against Dalby this weekend. All the team are meshing well together. Passing the ball around and all getting in there and having a go.

COACH: MICHAEL WILKINSON – Fantastic game by our under 9 roosters great weather to which was a nice change from the very rough Saturday the week before. Our roosters were pumped and eager to get straight into the hard but in the end very evenly matched game against the Dalby devils. With only 1 sub for back up our roosters were getting pumped the first 1/2 of the game. With a little pep talk less passing more runs became the game changer we needed. We fort back to an even score line which was a massive effort and the crowd was loving every minute of it. As it was an absolute cracker of a game. With the always dominating Kingston putting on an awesome show with runs and try’s along with the hard tackling rooster crew Harry, Max. Jackson. Carter and Jannali. When on the offence Cooper bagged 2 try’s and Kingston lost count of his and Nikko was excellent out of dummy half. Sheileen had a great game also. The complete team looked like we were on the way to win the game but there wasn’t enough time left on the clock. So many good hard runs & hard tackles. Plenty of stepping and weaving as well. Great off loads and backing up from all the kids also. Multiple try saving tackles and pulling the devils over the side line. Great job kids everybody enjoyed the show. 3,2,1 Players are Kingston, Cooper and Nicholas.
COACH: DAVID CAREY – It was a much nicer morning for football this weekend. The team started out strong, seeing Unique cross for her first try for Valleys in the first few minutes. She obviously got a taste for it, as she managed her second try as well. The team did a great job of settling the play with some strong straight runs for the first few tackles each time we were in attack. There was also some great marker work, with the tackler remaining as marker, with Quade and Rhys showing how it’s done. Max and Kayden led the way with some awesome tackles and the team as a whole had very solid defence. Great work Roosters. 3,2,1 Players are Unique, Cayleb and Quade.
COACH: DARREN O’NEIL – Great game of footy today against Dalby with the players starting to throw the ball around well in play. Defence is improving each week with some big one on one tackles, little man Frank was a stand out today ripping in and giving his best. Just need to focus on sharing the ball around. 3,2,1 Players are Cayleb, Jimmy and Frank.

Write up for under 11’s-On Saturday we welcomed Dalby to Valleys for 2 early games of footy. In the first game the boys defended very well and only allowed a couple of tries in the game. In attack we played really well as a team and it’s great to see the boys continue to improve on the things we have been practising at training. The second game was also a close game of footy with some great tries by both sides. Overall 2 great games of footy were played with all the boys enjoying the day.

1st Game
Our 1st game on Saturday was our best game for the year with all our boys playing fantastic in attack and defence. In the 1st half we had a fair bit of the ball and scored some nice tries after some blockbusting runs by Sam Lorena. The 2nd half showed how resilient we can be when we talk in defence and believe in each other. We never let in any tries in the 2nd half. A big thanks to Stinger who has been helping us at training. I think all the boys and coaching staff get a lot out of his help.
Cheers
Lee and Jacinta
2nd Game
In our 2nd game we lost some boys who played up in the Under 13’s and we had some rep boys who we rested. In saying that our boys never stopped trying against the big Dalby boys and they played their hearts out. A special mention must go to our little pocket rocket JJ who was the best player on the field
Cheers

Great game team, we dominated in the middle which set the game up for the backs to score some great tries. Our second phase play was outstanding and our ball control was excellent. But the most pleasing thing was our defence. Good control and contact kept Dalby scoreless. We still have a lot of work to do so let’s keep turning up to training. Well done team Froggy, Clemy and Cherie

What an entertaining, hard hitting and tight game. It showed in our injuries and it is obvious in the final score line. We have not been pushed like that so far this season and it was great to see the uninjured players on the field lift for their mates on the sideline. Dalby has and always will be the team to beat and it’s an absolute pleasure to have competitive hit outs with them. Hold your heads high boys you deserve to be proud of not only your previous and future achievements but also your ability to show great sportsmanship win or lose. We could not be prouder of you all yes we made mistakes but you boys are an inspirational group with the ability to stay composed, lift in tough times and do better every time you come up against any team. Thanks Dalby for a great Game
13/14 Dev Cup
How great is development cup?! Excellent effort against Dalby today. Our attacking and defensive plays were outstanding and it is always a proud moment to see the teamwork between the two age groups. Well done boys! Let’s all get to training this coming week before we take on brothers Saturday.

Game 3: Valleys v Dalby Unfortunately it was a disappointing loss 14-36 to Dalby this week. The boys lost control in the first half and just couldn’t get it back. Time to focus & regather for next week. Tries this week go to Yarren, Kooper & Mitchell with 1 conversation to Jordain. Unfortunately we have had a bad run of injuries & this week we didn’t come out unscathed with Noah hurting his knee. We wish all our boys a speedy recovery & can wait to have them all back out on the paddock, Thanks Josh & Barb

A tough game this week against Dalby losing 40 – 16. Dalby put us under pressure from kick off and we didn’t help ourselves giving away a lot of penalties in the first half. It was encouraging none the less, with the boys continuing to play football and not give up even when we were down two players for an extended period. We have a strong spirit within the team with the boys working together until the final whistle.
Under 12 Girls
U12 girls played their 3rd game tonight against Oakey. They are coming together well as a team. Their sportsmanship shows in every game being the first to give 3 cheers to the other teams at the end of the game. Sakrett & Jamie kept the score board even scoring tries with good runs up the field also by Tallara, Breana & team mates helping the girls get to the line. Emily, Jinikai, Hope & team were all tackling good working together to hold Oakey off their line. Our Captain Lily led the girls fantastic throughout the game. Very proud of how all the girls played and looking forward to next week as they each improve & develop. Shirley

Training this week was focused on defensive structure and communication. Both were evident during the game against Oakey on Friday night. Well done girls on putting these skills into practice. Injury before half time saw a premature end to the game and we wish the Oakey Girls a speedy recovery. Return to training this week with a ‘can do’ attitude and a willingness to work and you will continue to reap the rewards.
