Under 8’s

Well didn’t Oakey bring on the warm weather for the first match of the day – the boys and the supporters all felt it! The half time oranges went down a treat thanks to Nicholas Master’s Dad, very much appreciated!

Game 1 – Extremely impressed with the boys defensive effort today leaving Oakey scoreless until the 3rd quarter. Starting to play well as a team, sharing the ball around in attack and supporting each other. We cant wait for the carnival this coming Saturday where the team will get to mix it up with all of the clubs coming together.

Jett Kratzmann – Man of the Match
Today we played Oakey on quite a warm day. The boys tried hard all game. When we decided to run straight and hard we made good ground. Jett put his body on the line in attack and defence against some big boys. We will continue to work on moving up in one line in defence. Keep at it boys and you will continue to improve and enjoy your footy.

Matt.

Dan’s team :

Man of the Match – Lincoln wright.

Second game of the season the boys played well we had some big efforts in defence with a special mention to Lincoln wright but we still need to work on moving up but I can see we have made lots of improvements already and we will keep working on it we moved the ball around well in attack all in all looking like a very positive year.

Our second game of the season finds the under 9’s settling into their new team. The boys came out firing. In particularly with there defence. We saw some excellent tackles from Oscar Macavoy, Will Cook and Noah Warden. The boys are really starting to understand how to run together. The runs of the match were earned by Jack Atwell, Coby Edmondson and Ben Williams. This weeks man of the match went to Lincoln Dempsey. Looking forward to next weekend,

Cookie

Under 10’s

Today the under 10’s travelled out to Oakey to play the Bears. We would like to thank the Oakey team for their effort to play 2 games back to back to give all our players a game. In both the games we defended very well with some great defence lead by Boston Norton and Ryan Dunneman in the first game and Charlie Barnes and Tui Rei in the 2nd. In the first game the boys attacked really well with some great runs from Jack Allen and fatty Howard. In the second game we put some good passes together and got a good length of the field try from Hayden Delaney. We just need to keep working on moving up in a line in defence and we will continue to improve. Great job boys.
Players of the match

Under 11’s

On Saturday we travelled to Oakey. We started of a little slow today a little intimidated by the size of some of the opposition players. Our confidence returned in both attach and defence about 15 minutes into game.

In attack we saw some great runs by Harry, Lucas, Sam and Logan. Our defence was much better in second half but Wesley lead the way with the most tackles of the day. Wes and Sam were rewarded with two tries, Harry and Tyler with one try each. Best players today were Logan, Wes and Harry. See you all next week.

Under 12’s

Today our remarkable under 12 Valley team took on an Oakey team. Throughout the game, we saw some great tackling and some brilliant attacking plays from our Roosters. Our team showed us that they can support and encourage each other, and we’ll continue to develop them as a team at training. Thank you everyone and we’ll see you all at training on Tuesday afternoon.

This week against Oakey each and everyone of you boys played well. We trained hard this week to fix our structures and lessons learnt, the improvement in every player was outstanding. Thank you to Oakey for a great day of footy. No club game next week then we take on Dalby at home.

Under 13/14 Dev. Cup

Coming up against a club with no development cup team is difficult but we cannot thank Oakey enough for putting together a team for us on Saturday. We had some boys playing only their second ever game of footy and this game was a great way to build on their confidence. All our Valleys boys had great fun. Thanks to all the players & officials involved in this excellent game which was played with great spirit from start to finish.

Under 14’s

Today, our remarkable U14 Roosters took on a solid U14 Oakey team at the Bears den. As the players took the field, it was clear that it was going to be an extremely demanding game. It was Oakey who put the first points on the scoreboard, and it seemed that the Bears might just run away with the game. But, our inspirational Valleys boys regained their composure and it was game on. In the end, both teams scored 5 tries throughout the game, however Oakey came away with the win as they attained 3 successful conversions. The final score was Oakey 26 defeating Valleys 22, with Roosters tries to Blake Gill, Domenic Whittingham, Jordain Beezley, Jack Stenzel (U13) and Manisela Pole, and successful conversion to Jordain Beezley. Thanks for a terrific game boys and we’ll see you at training on Tuesday.

This week we played Oakey in Oakey and came away the chocolates.

Coming away with 3 meat pies each was Khahil and Hatchy. Congratulations to Tom Hatch coming away with player of the match.

With next week being a bye this will give us 4 training session to prepare for competition favourites Dalby.

Under 12 Girls

Today, our incredible Valleys U12 Girls team played against a notable Oakey U12 Girls team in a history making game at the Bears den. This was the 1st U12 All-Girls game to be played in conjunction with the general TJRL Saturday comp and although the girls had only played 5 games prior to this, both teams played with pride and tenacity. Even though we only had 10 players, our young Roosters certainly kept Oakey on their toes throughout the game and at the end of the 1st half, Valleys were leading 20-16. In the second half of the game, it was evident that playing in the heat with no reserves was taking its toll on our Valleys U12 Girls, but our team continued playing on with determination and purpose. In the end, Oakey defeated Valleys 36-28, with Valleys tries to Jamecia Brown (2), Pypah Ferguson, Sienna Carr, Eliza Morcom, Ally-Bell Hinch and Indiana Ranford.

Our first Valleys U12 Girls team players included:

Jamecia Brown, Sienna Carr, Jada Duncan, Tallara Duncan, Pypah Ferguson, Laura Fry, Tori Gibbs, Emily Gill, Ally-Bell Hinch, Jaime Hohn, Haylee Kuhn, Grace Martorella, Eliza Morcom, Taleisha Murray, Indiana Ranford, Sienna Wilson.

Thanks to all the players and their family and friends for your dedicated support. We’re extremely proud of our Valleys U12 Girls and we hope to see everyone back to train/play in July.

Kris and Sam.
