Under 6’s
We had Two games on Saturday on our field against Highfield’s. Highfield’s asked if we could play 8 aside for game 1 due there number’s which is great for the little roosters because they then have a whole game with out sitting out. They played really well keeping Highfields to there end of the field, Rahkye had a great game all round! The boys pushing up as a team doing two on one tackles, having the opposition on the back foot. Second game Kody had a great game! Some outstanding tackles from Kody and the team against a big side.
Well done Rooster’s 3 games left let’s give it 100%
Under 7’s
On the weekend the Under 7’s played Highfields at Valleys. It was a beautiful day to play 2 games of footy against Highfields. The young roosters played well but I would like to ask parents to try and bring their children to training so they can get used to playing together as a team.

We had a tough day at the office against a very good Highfields team. To the boys credit they tried hard for the entire game. Jack Hewitt played well. We had an extended bench but the boys accepted the time on the sideline and supported each other while watching on. Matt’s team Dan’s team what a hard day at the office for the guys Highfields was on fire but the guys never gave up and kept putting in which was good to see there fighting spirit
Under 10’s
This week we took on the Highfields Eagles in 2 good games of footy. In the first game we defended well in patch and it was great to see some of our first year players really starting to hit their strap. Hamish Cochrane and Caleb Baker both played great games. In the second game we really threw the ball around and scored some great tries. All the boys are training hard and continuing to improve. With only 3 games left we are looking to finish the year well. Great job team, keep up the good work.
Under 11’s
The boys took on a very determined Highfields team today in what can only be described as a cracking game of footy, and possibly the best all year in terms of effort and toughness from both teams. With the scores locked at nil all at half time, this was a reflection of the standard of footy being played. Our boys dug deep in defence, but wasn’t quiet enough going down 2 nil.
Today’s best players were Cooper Tobin, Declan Reen and Wes Berthelsen who collectively made some 50 plus tackles. Well done to the whole team on a great game played in great spirit.

Tough game Saturday against Highfields. We started with great defence and attack unfortunately errors in our own half lead to points for the opposition. We need to work harder to defend with great enthusiasm and effort after errors are made. It was fulfilling to see the whole team show some impressive teamwork and positivity until the final whistle. Thank you to Matt & Clemy for looking after the team this week.
Under 14’s
Thanks to the under 14 valleys boys who fronted up and did the BBQ for the morning for the club. I know Clemy was very impressed by your efforts.
As for the footy. Congratulations on the team’s effort Saturday. The game was 10 all at halftime and competitive. After halftime though we got going and scored an unanswered 40 points. Highfields made a lot of errors in the second half, but I felt that was in part though to the great pressure we had them under through our defence.
I was really proud how we played so tough under adversity and stuck together.
I was proud of how we stuck to our structure we planned, and also the push on the footy all game. I thought we really played well as a team and we continue to head in the right direction.

Youth Cup
This afternoon, our courageous U15/U16 Valleys Youth Cup team took on a spirited Highfields U15/U16 Youth Cup team at home. Although most of our team had just played 80 minutes on the U16 Premier team, our remarkable Roosters played with determination and perseverance throughout the Youth Cup game.
Our forwards Jordan Robinson and Jordan Petrie are continually improving each week and they really stepped up during the game today. Whilst our team battled with fatigue and muscle cramps, they continued to compete with tenacity, which is a testament to their character. In the end, Highfields came away with the win, defeating Valleys 40-18.
Thanks for a wonderful game boys and we’ll see you all on Tuesday,.

Under 12 Girls
Tonight, the TJRL kicked off their U12 Girls mini comp at Valleys. The round robin comp involves U12 Girls teams from around the Toowoomba region including Valleys, Brothers, Pittsworth, Gatton, Oakey and Warwick & District. Each Friday night, the girls play 2 games against different teams to help them prepare for next years’ introduction of a separate U12 Girls comp within the Toowoomba region.
In our 1st game of the night, our incredible Valleys U12 Girls took on a spirited Brothers U12 Girls team, and what a game it was! Our remarkable Roosters kept the Leprechauns on their toes throughout the game as they went try for try. It was fantastic to see Valleys putting their training into practice on the field and in the end it was a 5-all draw. Valleys tries went to Indiana Ranford (2), Ally-Bell Hinch, Pypah Ferguson and Taleisha Murray.
In our 2nd game, our resilient Valleys U12 Girls took on a challenging Oakey U12 Girls team in a demanding game. Although we saw some astounding tackles and marvellous plays from Valleys, our girls struggled to maintain their line defence and couldn’t keep the Bears at bay. In the end, Oakey defeated Valleys 8 tries to 4 with Rooster tries to Indiana Ranford (2), Ally-Bell Hinch and Taleisha Murray.
During the 2 games, we saw solid performances from Sienna Carr, Laura Fry, Tallara Duncan, Sienna Wilson, Grace Martorella, Jaime Hohn, Tori Gibbs, Jamecia Brown and Emily Gill.
Thanks for 2 fantastic games girls and we’ll see you all at training on Tuesday!
