Under 6’s
We went to Gatton on Saturday with two teams, both teams really stepped up all boys had a great game some outstanding tackling by the boys both individual and team tackles. All the boys where running forward and passing properly with out hesitating! Well done Roosters with two weeks left and you guys still amaze me.
Under 7’s
The Under 7s played 2 games against the Hawks at Gatton. The young roosters and Gatton played really well and it is great to see them loving their footy. In the second game some of the Roosters seemed to become tired and lost their focus a bit but this is because they had already played an excellent first game putting in a lot of effort. With little reserves they were ready to finish up at the end of the second game. It was so good to see that even though some of the players were tired they still played and put in as much effort as they possibly could. Good teamwork Under 7s.

Game 1 – Valleys v Gatton (at Gatton)
What a game today our boys played a much bigger side and we had a few of our regular boys out but it didn’t stop us matching Gatton try for try. Super proud of how they have come on since the start of the season. Cayleb and Lawson led the way up front with the little men Caden and Jaxen carving up through the middle.
Coach: Darren O’Neil
Man of the Match – Conor Gilberd
Game 2 – Valleys v Gatton (at Gatton)
Awesome game on the weekend for our little under 8 Roosters team against the Gatton Hawks. Quite a lot of tries scored it was hard to keep a tally. Yet again outstanding ball skills, controlled and with very little mistakes. The defensive lines were a little all over the shop hence the high scoring game and a few too many side lines hit. It was still an even match up overall and a great game to spectate. Oliver Baker had an absolute cracker crossing the line 4 times and backing up with big tackles alongside his team mates. Sheileen also got her first try with a quick short run near the line.
Coach: Michael Wilkinson
Man of the Match – Oliver Baker
Game 3 – Valleys v Gatton (at Gatton)
By the time this game came around it was warm…… we were down a few players but still managed to have a great game. Mason Williamson had his best game of the season – putting his all in. Only 2 games left for this footy year and what a year it has been. Everyone has excelled and are not the same players as at the start of 2018. Next game is at home against Souths – we will be ready for another tough game. See you then.
Coach: Charles Howe
Man of the Match – Mason Williamson
Under 10’s
On Saturday we travelled down to Gatton to take on the young Hawks in 2 good games of footy. In the first game on a nice warm day the boys worked really hard on the defense and support play against a pretty big side. The boys tried hard and never gave up. In the second game our littler boys got off the line and made some great team tackles before the bigger boys could get moving. Slater Williams had an absolute blinder with his defense which really lead the way for his side. Overall both teams played well and it was a good day in Gatton.
Under 11’s
On a beautiful warm morning for football we took on Gatton away. The boys came away with a sound win on the back of a great team defensive effort seeing the work load shared across all the forwards who all contributed averaging 20 tackles each…. a great effort. Todays standout player was Daniel Pole who ran all day and made some great metres. Our other best two players were Kayden Wright who was fantastic at the back and Wes Berthelsen who’s tackling was consistent as always.
Thanks boys and remember train hard and play for each other.

Another hot one in Gatton today but everyone played well. Defence was strong and the effort in attack was sensational. Teamwork is key to every game regardless of the scoreboard, a lot of individual goals were meet today and as a team we have to be proud of how far we’ve all progressed this year. Thanks to Gatton for putting on a great day of footy especially their under 13s who have had a tough year which we know all to well isn’t fun managed to finish the game on a high note.
Under 14’s
Mighty effort today by the Valleys Under 14 team going down 14-10 to an outstanding Gatton side. Both sides copped some weird calls, but despite this the boys from both sides had a great contest that could have gone either way. Good news is we can take a great deal from the game and look to improve. Congratulations team.
13/14 Dev. Cup
Saturday we traveled down the hill and played Gatton in a very well matched game. Everyone played an excellent game some their best all year. Unfortunately Coach Josh Hill became unwell during the game but thankfully Josh Allen stepped in and took over. We are all so very fortunate to be involved in a great club with awesome people who are willing to step in whenever and wherever needed. We’ll take the bye this week boy before taking on Pittsworth!
Youth Cup
This afternoon, our remarkable Valleys U15/U16 Youth Cup team took on the Gatton U15/U16 Youth Cup team at Cahill Park. As we only had 11 awe-inspiring Roosters turn up to play, we decided to play 10 a side in the 1st half. Our Valleys boys certainly held their own in the first half as they kept the Hawks on their toes and at the end of the 1st half, Gatton lead Valleys 24-16.
In the 2nd half, Gatton played 13 players (with reserves to spare), whilst we had our awesome 11 Roosters. Our Youth Cup boys never gave up during the game, however competing 2 players down was extremely challenging for Valleys and in the end, Gatton ran away with the win.
Valleys tries went to Thomas Hatch (2) Tristan Klein, Darren Galvin and Jordan Robinson, with successful conversions to Shannon Snelling (2) and Thomas Hatch.
During the game, we saw some amazing tackles from Tyrell Tuitoga, Darren Galvin, Jayden Clevin and Jordan Robinson, some tough hit ups from Tristan Klein, Jordan Petrie, Isaiah Forden and Joshua Trost and brilliant runs from Thomas Hatch, Shannon Snelling and Marco Adreadis.
Thank you for all your hard work and effort today boys and we’ll see you all at training on Tuesday, Sam and Kris

Tonight, our outstanding Valleys U12 Girls took on Gatton in the 1st game and Pittsworth in the 2nd game.
Our remarkable Roosters certainly stepped up a level in their attack as we saw the ball move from one end of the field to the other and it was fantastic to see the girls move up together in their defensive line.
Valleys played with confidence and determination tonight which helped them win both games. In the end, our Roosters overcame Gatton 6 tries to 1 and they also defeated Pittsworth 5 tries to 2.
Valleys tries went to Laura Fry (2), Pypah Ferguson (2), Indiana Ranford (2), Tallara Duncan, Eliza Morcom, Sienna Wilson, Jaime Hohn and Ally-Bell Hinch, with incredible efforts from Tori Gibbs, Jamecia Brown and Taleisha Murray.
