U7’s played an awesome game on Saturday morning. There defence was on point. First game back and I couldn’t be happier with there performance. The passing and catching drills we have been doing at training payed off, not one ball was dropped, not one forward pass. Some great tackle’s Hunter really stood out every tackle he done was perfect, great game by all players, I had a goal set for each individual player this week and they all met there goal so well done valley’s can’t wait for next week.

First game of the year on the weekend for our not as little under 9 roosters. It was an excellent autumn day. It was clear from the first blow of the whistle our roosters were eager to get on the paddock and put on a dominating show. With the new import Kingston and the veteran Nash And Caylab leading the pathway to the meat pie line multiple times each. The complete team looked like it was everything but there first game back for the year. So many good hard runs & hard tackles. Plenty of stepping and weaving as well. Great off loads and backing up from the all the kids also.
Multiple try saving tackles and pulling the bears over the side line.

Great job kids everybody enjoyed the show.

It was a beautiful day for the first game of the 2019 season, the kids turned up very excited to play. Both teams were stoked to receive their headgear from the Great White Campaign, what a fantastic initiative for our kids safety. Valleys put on an excellent display with some great team work. Jannali weaved her magic, making good metres and Jack and Carter had some strong runs. Unique, Jimmy, Rhys and Kayden had fantastic first games with Valleys and are settling in to the team well. The rest of the team had a great defensive game, with Quade and Nich keen in the role of marker. Well done team, looking forward to another awesome season!

Today we started our season against the Oakey Bears on a beautiful Saturday morning at Valleys. It was a great game with both sides playing very well. We were led well by our captain on the day Kye and our forward running well which led to our halves setting up some great for our outside backs. In defense Tyler Yuide was excellent with some great tackles on the big Oakey team. It was a great team effort and we look forward to another enjoyable season. -Ned

Great game of footy played in the right spirit by both teams. Thank you Oakey. Some excellent ball movement and good line running from the young rosters. Great effort by all the boys for the first hit out of the season. See you all at training. – Coach Ken

11/12 Dev. Cup

The DC boys played their first game of the season on Saturday vs the Oakey bears. We haven’t trained together and a lot of the boys only met each other for the 1st time in the sheds before the game. But the boys went out and had a great game anyway. They moved the ball around well and scored some great tries include a spectacular long range try to Sam Lorenz. In defense the boys moved up and tackle well. Caleb Baker was outstanding in defense against the big Oakey boys. It was a great first game together and I think the boys will have a fun year.

Today we played against Oakey at home in our first round game. This week we did not train as a team as this game was changed last minute. We started the game well playing 12 on 12. Due to an Oakey injury we ended up with 11 on 11. Playing set plays with less players looked as though it may cause some issues but due to the excellent quick thinking of our team most of these plays still worked. We made some errors and didn’t always have a support player after line breaks but we did work together and play some great footy in and out of our normal positions. Well done team and thanks to Oakey for a great game of footy.

Grand final rematch and what a game, both teams came out with a point to prove. The boys from both teams came out hard & strong. Our boys have prepared well in the off season but we did lose some control & made a few errors but then we regathered at half time to come away with the win 22-14.
We have a few injuries with 2 boys taken to hospital but thankfully no broken bones.
Here’s to a great start to the 2019 season.

Thanks Josh and Barb

A positive start to the season with a close win against Murgon 20 – 18. The boys played well however continued to let Murgon back in the game due to unforced errors and lapses in concentration. We were proud of the boys controlling their aggression and working together as a team. Thank you to the Under 15 boys who played up and contributed well. The boys are building strong relationships and belief in each other which stands us in good stead for the year. We can only improve together if we train together so look forward to seeing the boys at training this week to prepare for a tough game against Highfields.

Under 14 Girls

Was a great effort Friday night against Oakey, the girl’s were fantastic and gave it 100 percent and had a lot off fun. They backed it up on Saturday against Highfields and showed great sportsmanship and team spirit as half of our girls played with Highfields. The girls had a brilliant start to the season.
