On the weekend the Under 7’s played Dalby at Valleys. The young Roosters looked like they really enjoyed the games against Dalby and it is fantastic to see them starting to work well together as a team.

After the bitter weather of last weekend I didn’t know of many who were keen to turn up at Valleys again but surprise, surprise the weather was awesome. The kids were all warmed up and very keen to take on Dalby at home.

Game 1 – Great team effort by our young Roosters today. Their defensive strategies were outstanding not letting Dalby in to score the entire game. The boys were making breakthrough tries, running over two-thirds of the field for some. The progress of this team is one to be proud of.

Coach: Darren O’Neill

Man of the Match – Jace Galligan

Player’s Player – Ben Elwell

Game 2 – Tough game for our little under 8 Roosters with Dalby showing they’re a competent side in both defence and attack, with our team only crossing the line once for a try. Lots of quality tackles from the Roosters as they continue to improve and play as a team each week. Great completions rates which shows good hand skills by the kids.

Coach: Michael Wilkinson

Man of the Match – Cooper Wilkinson

Player’s Player – Jax Robinson

Game 3 – The third game of the day did not disappoint with everyone having a really good game – lots of effort and great team work. Tyrese scored a couple of tries (on his birthday) and made some great tackles in a Man of the Match effort. Thank you to Dalby for a great game.

Man of the Match – Tyrese Duncan-Brown

This weekend we welcomed Dalby to the chook pen. We had 2 good hard fought games in the age group. In the first game we attached really well with Hayden Delaney linking with Charlie Barnes for some great tries. Our defence continues to improve with some great tackles led by 2 of our Tylers, Robinson and Barton really leading the way. In the second game the attack was led by a couple of good tries by Jake Eyles and some great runs by Emily Gill. And the defence was also good with the boys moving up in a straight line and some great tackles by the team with our little axe Boston Norton make a few beauties. If we keep working hard at training I’m sure we will continue with the improvements. Keep up the good work boys.
Players of the match
Game 1
Tyler Barton and Toby Hynes
Game 2

First Game

On Saturday, we played Dalby at home with it being a beautiful day for football. Our defence let us down today but is good to see this team start working as a team. Thankyou to the boys who helped us out as we were short in numbers. In attack we saw some great runs by Tyson, Ethan, and Caleb. In defence we saw Shane, Tyson, Ambrose and Beau with some great tackles. Harry was rewarded with one try.

Best players today were Caleb, Ethan and Tyson.

Second Game

Second game was a great game by the boys and some great team work being shown. Is great to see the boys confidence growing each week.

In attack we saw some great runs by Lucas, Daniel and Rory. Our defence was pretty good but Rory lead the way with the most tackles of the day. Daniel and Lucas were rewarded with three tries, Wes with two and Declan and Sam with one try each. Best players today were Lucas, Declan and Rory. See you all next week

On Saturday we played Dalby at our home ground and what a great game of footy!

Was great to see the boys remain cool and calm during the match as Dalby was a challenge and a tough game. Dalby lead in the first half but with great defence and working as a team we pulled together and got the Win in the end. Great Team effort boys look forward to seeing you Tuesday.

We knew this game against Dalby was going to be tough and we did ourselves no favours with a couple of silly errors early in the first half. When points are scored against us quickly it’s great to remember to keep our heads up and in the game. Half time was needed and it was as if the whole team took the field with a renewed outlook and energy. We managed to cross the line a couple of times and get some points on the board. During the entire game it was excellent to see the continued team work and support for each and every player.

Today we took on Dalby in our second competition game of the year. You wouldn’t think that by the way everyone played. Standing in the coach’s box watching you guys play makes the smile on our dial never go away because you have so much fun out there. Whether its backing each other up in defence and attack or supporting each other off the field these two age groups together just seem to get it.

First of all, a massive thank you to all the U14 parents and players who helped with the U14 BBQ today! Your support is greatly appreciated and we couldn’t have done it without you!

This morning, our spirited Roosters U14 Premier team took on an admirable Dalby U14 Premier team at Valleys. Many times during the game, Valleys managed to keep Dalby from even getting out of their own 20 as our boys maintained constant pressure with their cohesive line speed. It was clear that our Roosters understood what their role was on the field, whether they were a hard-hitting forward or a dynamic back, and their performances were impressive. Although the Devils never gave up, our Roosters regulated the game from the kick off and by the end of the 1st half, it was Valleys 20, Dalby 0.

In the second half, we saw Dalby take the field reinvigorated. Unfortunately, their revival was no match for our robust and talented Valleys players and at the end of the game, it was Valleys 44 defeating Dalby 4. Rooster tries to Kooper Diment (5), Dillon McFeeters (2), Jack Byrnes and Jordain Beezley, with successful conversions to Domenic Whittingham (2), Kobi Carr and Jordain Beezley. Thanks for an awesome game boys and we’ll see you all at training on Tuesday

This week the Valleys u16 premier side took on very strong Dalby side. It was very fast paced game with little breaks. We were able to stick with them up until half time going into the sheds down 12 to 10. Dalby come out firing in the second half putting on 26 unanswered points. The effort that the boys displayed through out the game was exceptional never giving up. With a great defensive game player of the match went to Sam Balderson. Back to training this week to fine tune our game.

Youth Cup

Valleys under 15/16 Youth Cup side went into the game under strength with only 11 players being available to play and half of them backing up from a fast premier game. They took on the full strength Dalby side. The boys hung tough in the first half going into the sheds at 6 all. Second half saw fatigue take its toll quickly as the boys lost their speed. Dalby went on to close the game out 6 – 34. The determination from the boys for the entirety of the game was outstanding with a lot if not all the boys running on empty
