Under 6’s
It was our last home game on Saturday against Souths and the little Roosters played great! Such a great team with such positive energy! Boys where spread out and just aware of there positions. Tackling was great and has been all of round I have not pulled up any head high tackling all round, this is something that I’m pretty proud off! It’s great to see U6’s celebrate there little victories with each other weather it’s scoring a try or doing an awesome tackle or making a good run! There friendship as a team has grown and shows in the way they play! Give yourselves a pat on the back boys, well done!! 1 game left I know you’s will bring your A game!!
Under 7’s
The Under 7s played Souths on the weekend at home. The young roosters played well and tried hard but most importantly seemed to enjoy themselves. With only one more game left it would be great to see all the players attend training this week and play their last game for the season on Saturday.

Game 1 – Valleys v Souths (at Home)
Great effort by the boys today against Souths, they played really well as a team throwing the ball around. Everyone put a really good effort in this week, with one week to go let’s get out there and have some fun next week against Pittsworth.

Man of the Match – Cayleb O’Neil
Game 2 – Valleys v Souths (at Home)
It was a cracking day and the kids came ready to play! Nick found his voice at first receiver this week and did really well steering the side around the park. Jack, Max and Quade had strong games in both attack and defence. Rianna grows in confidence every week and made some strong runs. I really wanted to take the opportunity to say thank you to the kids for their efforts this season, I’m away next week so I won’t get a chance to say it there. Each and every one of them has improved, from some kids that quite literally sat down out the back of play are now really involved in the games to kids that could play but are now playing extremely well. Thanks guys, it has been an enjoyable year.
Coach: Charles Howe
Man of the Match – Mason Williamson
Game 3 – Valleys v Souths (at Home)
Solid game on the weekend for our little under 8 roosters team against the tigers. Our little roosters are showing that there tiring towards the end of the season. Quite a lot of try’s scored it was hard to keep score. Ball skills is still our strong point with keeping an even spaced gap in our defensive line being our weakest point. Man of the match Harry Pollard with massive runs and line breaks throughout the game. Players player Jax very consistent player with plenty of energy throughout the game.
Coach: Michael Wilkinson
Man of the Match – Harry Pollard

Cookies under 9’s saw a great game against the Tigers. We are seeing some impressive football in the later stage of the season. This week standouts where Oscar, Lincoln Dempsey, Will, Jack and Coby. These guys showed some real heart in their defence. The whole team is a pleasure to be a part of as they all show commitment and comradeship. Well done boys
Today we played Souths in a very good game of footy. Souths showed us how to play footy well, but to the teams credit we dug in and got better as the game went on. The last quarter I thought we played our best football and was very proud of everyone’s effort. Mason Munn led from the front and threw himself into everything. Ryan played well at dummy half and thanks to Bella, Jerome and Xav for playing another game for us.
What an awesome game today and a great show of sportsmanship by my under 9s letting one of the Souths boys in for his first try of his life such a proud moment for me and reminds me exactly why I love coaching these kids our boys put in an unreal performance and a big shout out to Cory scoring his first try of the year 1 more game to go and we plan to go out with a bang.

Under 10’s
On Saturday we played Souths in 2 great games of under 10s footy. In the first game the boys tried really hard and never gave up against a strong Souths side. They worked well as a team in defense and threw the ball a round in attack. In the second game we start well with the boys having some great width in and really spreading the ball out well. They defended well and got great numbers in their tackles to help bring down the young tigers. I look forward to our last week at training and finishing the season on a high. Keep up the good work boys
Under 11’s
On what would be our last home game of the season, we took on a committed Souths team. The boys went down today on the back of some poor errors and ultimately lack of possession cost us the game. Today’s best player was Harry Whittingham who took the ball up all day with some great hard runs. Our other best in a losing team were Fabian and Leighton.
One more game to go boys as the season draws closer to the end.

Playing our first game together under lights was exciting and once again we put on a great display of rugby league in the first half. All we needed to do was build on our lead but what is it with second halves – we just need to complete and limit our errors, although we were very lucky the errors didn’t cost us tonight. We must remember these games as they prove when we take the field without a full team we can still come away with the win. We have chipped away at the end goal well this year as a team and individuals HUGE CONGRATS TEAM on some excellent regular fixture footy. Now we have a bye before the finals and it’s very important everyone attends training for finals.

Friday night football was back with a game against South’s. We come out of the blocks firing and were leading half way through the first half. The score line didn’t reflect the quality of footy that the boys displayed. Unfortunately we could not hold onto the lead with South’s running out victors.. It was great to see the effort that the boys displayed through out the game we could not ask for anymore. Heads up boys and bring on next week.
Youth Cup
This morning, our gutsy Valleys U15/U16 Youth Cup team took on a passionate Souths U15/U16 Youth Cup team at Valleys. Although we only had 11 remarkable Roosters show up to play, the Tigers were amicable in playing 10 a side, even though they had 14 players.
Throughout the game, we saw some astonishing team plays and miraculous tackles as Valleys took control of the game and at the end of the 1st half, it was 26-16 in favour of our Roosters.
In the 2nd half, Souths took the field with intent. However, Valleys were determined to stay in the lead and in the end, Valleys seized the win 40 to 34.
Valleys tries went to Tristan Klein (4), Kofe Willis-Duncan, Tyran Boyle, Jordan Robinson and Shannon Snelling, with successful conversions to Shannon Snelling (2) and Tyran Boyle. Congratulations also to Marco Adreadis, Isaiah Forden, Jordan Petrie, Michael Thurston, Joshua Trost and Tyrell Tuitoga for their incredible endeavours today.
Unfortunately, this was the last game for the Valleys U15/U16 Youth Cup team as they placed 5th overall and will not be competing in the finals.
Thank you to all the Youth Cup players and their families for all your efforts during the season!
Jack, Sam, Kris and Lee.
Under 12 Girls
This evening, our Valleys U12 Girls played against Warwick & District and against Oakey in their semi-final match.
Although we only had 9 players in the 1st game against Warwick & District, our formidable Roosters kept their opposition in check. Although it was a close game, Warwick came away with the win defeating Valleys 2 tries to 1 (Try scorer Laura Fry).
In the 2nd game, our Roosters had to play Oakey to see who would play in the grand final next Friday night. Whilst our 10 spirited Valleys U12 Girls put in a solid effort, it wasn’t enough to keep the Bears from the try line and in the end, Oakey defeated Valleys 6 tries to 3. Rooster tries went to Laura Fry, Pypah Ferguson and Sienna Wilson.
We also saw solid performances from Jamecia Brown, Tallara Duncan, Ally-Bell Hinch, Jaime Hohn, Tori Gibbs, Grace Martorella and Indian Ranford.
This Friday night will see our passionate Valleys U12 Girls play off for 3rd and 4th place against Brothers.
Thanks for a fantastic effort girls and we’ll see you all at training on Tuesday.
Chris and Sam.
