Under 8’s
What a beautiful day it was for the first day of the 2018 junior footy season. This year we have 31 little U8ers signed up to play footy for Valleys and it was great to see them on Saturday geared up and ready to take on Brothers. We have a number of boys who are new to the club and to the game and they played so well we are all very proud!
Game 1 – Saw some great tackling with boys working together in numbers against a very drilled Brothers side. Our boys looked really good in attack with some very hard running and tactical passes. Nice team work! Thank-you to our Sponsor Simons Home Hardware
Coach: Darren O’Neill
Man of the Match – Carter McGrady
Player’s Player – Jaxen Salmi
Game 2 – Great team effort by all the kids, very strong in defence and attack with many tries scored. First year for Karter George & Harrison Pollard and you wouldn’t even know it! The kids showed plenty of support with 2 in a tackle. Looking forward to an exciting year. Thank-you to our Sponsor Affordable Quality Kitchens & Bathrooms
Coach: Michael Wilkinson
Man of the Match – Harrison Pollard

Game 3 – Our game started well with a few quick tries to the team. They played well together and got better as the game went on. Oliver Baker putting on a few try saving tackles. Max Carey looked good each time he touched the ball. Outstanding defence and attack work from Tyrese Duncan-Brown and a special mention to Nicholas Masters getting in there and having a real go! Thank-you to our Sponsor Hooper Accountants

Under 10’s
The under 10s had 2 games against brothers on Saturday. In the early game the boys went really well in their first real game on the bigger field. They kept in their positions and covered the whole field in defence which was great to see. Our attack was pretty good also with some great tries scored. In the second game we came up against a pretty big brothers side but the boys showed some great spirit by getting in front of the bigger kids and making some great tackles. Overall we had 2 great games against 2 good Brothers teams.

Today we hosted Brothers at home for the first game of the season. Both teams played very well and should be proud of themselves. It was great to see both teams working together and talking amongst all the players out on the field. Whilst all played well the Best players for today in the first game were Logan, Zack and Ambrose. This year at the end of the game all players are to pick a team member of their choice who they think was a stand out on the field. This week in the first game Players player goes to Ambrose. Best players in the second game were Declan, Rory and Kayden with Players player going to Declan.
Well done see you Tuesday at training.

Welcome to the 2018 season. We opened the season against Brothers in outstanding game. Both sides moved the ball end to end which resulted in a 24 all draw. It’s great to see our old and new players working well together as a team. Errors were made but we will build from here and take on Oakey next week.

What a match up today with our valiant U14 Valleys taking on a robust U14 Brothers team at home. Both teams were certainly came out firing and at the end of the 1st half, it was 4 points all. The 2nd half was a different story, with our Roosters taking control of the game through sheer courage and perseverance. In the end, Valleys took the win with 18 points, against Brothers 10. Valleys tries went to Kooper Diment (2), Domenic Whittingham and Yarran Willis-Duncan and a successful conversion to Jordain Beezley. Thanks for an awesome game boys and we’ll see you at training on Tuesday!

What a long day we all had. First game of the year and we ended up under lights. Some boys ran onto a footy field for the first time in their lives they had a great time and are enjoying being part of our club. For our first time as a team the effort & teamwork of all the players was outstanding.

Our first game of the season for the Valleys under 16’s was at home against Brothers. We came away with the win 40 to 14. It was great effort by all to come away with win as it has been a turbulent few weeks on the training field. With training resuming back to normal this week this game gave us a fair idea on where we need to develop as a team. With a consistent game player of the match went to Mitch Lorenz. We would like to thank our sponsor Andersen Carpets.

Today is the first time opportunity, to have these two sides combine together and play footy as one. And what a great achievement it was for these young fellas, our first game of the season saw us take on Brothers, and with great delight the mighty Roosters got away with a great win. Our forwards lead the way with Tristan Klein getting our man of the match who scored three tries and Ashton Weribone making hard meters up the middle and also captain the side for the first time.
Our halves were outstanding the communication and organisation from Dodd and Carrie were instrumental and made things easy for their outside backs to finish things off. An awesome effort by all, if only we had a couple more players to have an interchange, but the boys got plenty of footy which was great to see.
I would like to thank our sponsors for making the day memorable in handing out the jerseys to the boys they truly enjoyed that.
See you all at training next week men.
Cheers Jack and Scotty.
