Under 8’s- Saturday saw the boys get down and very dirty against Brothers – a special mention must go to the Britnell’s who were on jersey washing duties! All the boys must have stocked up on weetbix that morning, with a very high tackle count from both teams. Apparently they still had plenty of energy left for runs though. Single tries to Noah Whittall, Alex Lucock, Joseph Kelly and Hayden Manning, with two each for Sam Lorenz and Lucas Slater. Well done boys, only 2 matches to go.
Under 9’s – The young Roosters are still working out a few attack and defending moves. Great to see them having fun. A couple of week left so keep up the good work. Muggo and Huggie
Under 11’s- A tough outing for our roosters on Saturday but full credit to Brothers boys, they came out firing in the first half and caught us of our game. The second d half was a good turn around for us and we got to put some points on them and slow their scoring which should be a good lesson for our boys. It was a sign of tough games to come and we need to be ready from the start of each game and play the full distance, coach Ken has full confidence in you boys you just have to want it more than you have been showing. Enjoy the rest of the weekend and see you all on Tuesday for a full on training session. Ken and the coaching team.
Under 12’s – A lot better effort by the boys yesterday against Brothers. We were not worried about the score but we were impressed by how the team didn’t give up and kept trying till the end. Well done boys, only two more games to go for the season so let’s go out with a bang. Andrew, Steve, Wendy and Lou.
Under 11/12 d/c- From the start of the season boys we just didn’t really know which way we were going. I am just incredibly proud of how you just keep showing up every week and continue to improve and play outstanding football. A great win today against Brothers with a 28-4 score line. Some great plays by Jacob Lawton and our number 12 Damien. Keep going Roosters – we are all supporting you.
Under 13’s – Another gusty performance boys. We must secure the3 ball to complete our sets. Defense is getting better and is the key to competing against stronger sides. With numerous decisions still opposing us let’s not lose heart. Well done Roosters Muggo and Huggie
Under 14’s – This win has been building for a few weeks now boys. We are all incredibly proud of how you performed boys and you certainly had the crowd cheering with the display of great football combined with great team spirit. You all ran some great lines with some excellent shape and structure in your game. Everything that we are doing at training is coming together and the whole of Valleys was shouting Rooster Rooster Rooster at your success. Kris, Rohan and Bryce.
Under 13/14 d/c – Fantastic win today with the boys really digging deep and showing the great courage of the team and where it is at the moment. Keep up the good work boys and we are all proud of you all. Thanks again to the 13 and 14 boys who have as a team combined for some great football. Rohan, Kris and Tania
Under 15’s-Thanks boys for a great team effort and thanks to Brothers for coming out hard at us, it was a great game of footy. The game was a real arm wrestle in the first half but our rhythm kicked in and we finished the game well to take the 2 points. We named 20 players this week and everyone took to the field and did their job for the team….well done boys. Josh and Craig
Under 16’s – This week we played the team currently sitting at the top of the table, at their home ground and came away with a 36-12 victory. Your improving patience in attack and growing ability to maintain focus is complimenting your strong defensive foundations. It was also good to see tries scored today due to improved support play. Let’s keep working hard at training fellas so we can achieve our goals.
