Hello Roosters,

This message is to let everybody know that our club is a very proud club and deeply proud of all players that pull on our Jersey.

We also have a great obligation to ensure you all have the opportunity to play in a safe environment.

With this in mind, I believe that Dalby are like us in this instance.

I will continue to support Dalby as a fair club, who also play their juniors in the right spirit.

They have always been a competitive club and no issues like that which occurred on Saturday night at Dalby have been documented or recalled as having happened before.

The incident involved patrons of the Dalby Leagues club.

All matters from the other night have been documented by those who were there, and sent on to the TJRL, who will have the incident investigated by the QRL.

As for our club, our committee has voted that in future we will never play past 6pm at a ground that has a licenced venue operating on a Saturday.

As for racial slurs , or any language from spectators deemed inappropriate , the following procedure has now been implemented

IF DURING A MATCH A PLAYER HEARS OR IS VERBALLY ABUSED IN ANY MANNER INCLUDING ABUSIVE/RACIAL/ INTIMIDATING MANNER , THE PLAYER IS TO IMMEDIATELY REPORT INCIDENT TO REFEREE.

THE REFS I AM TOLD ARE TO STOP THE GAME, AND CONTACT MYSELF OR A DUTY OFFICIAL.

THE INCIDENT WILL BE INVESTIGATED IMMEDIATELY AND ANYBODY IDENTIFIED, WILL BE SENT STRAIGHT TO THE JUDICIARY.

Racism, bullying and inappropriate language cannot be tolerated at junior sport.

I won’t tolerate it, and will deal with any issues like this.

As long as players follow the above instruction, and parents, players, supporters and officials abide by the code of conduct, our club will be strong.

There is no excuse for what was said by the people on the landing who spoke out.

I am very sad one our players had to go through this.

But no matter what happens, moving forward, we must continue to do our best, and remember the behaviour you walk past is the behaviour you accept.

Be strong Roosters.
